COURSES:

The courses for all club races and cruises are set out below.  The RO will decide which course to use to suit the conditions of the day and will advise competitors by displaying a letter together with a number for each division on the committee boat. The letter will designate the relevant sailing division (A or B) and the number will designate the course number for that division to sail.  e.g. If A3 and B4 are displayed, Division A is to sail course 3 and Division B (cruising) is to sail course 4. If no letter is displayed, the race will be competed in one division only.

Note:  (p) means take the mark to port and (s) means take the mark to starboard.

Course 1

From start to Windward Buoy (p), to Leeward Buoy (p), to Windward Buoy (p) to the finish line taking the start boat to port. (2 laps)

Course 2

From start to Windward Buoy (p), to Leeward Buoy (p), to Windward Buoy (p), to Leeward Buoy (p) to Windward Buoy (p) to the finish line taking the start boat to port. (3 laps)

Course 3

From start to Windward Buoy (p), to Leeward Buoy (p) to Windward Buoy (p) to laid Wing Mark (p) to the finish line taking the start boat to port.  (Windward/Leeward/Triangle).

Course 4

From start to Windward Buoy (p), to Leeward Buoy (p) to Windward Buoy (p) to laid Wing Mark (p), to Leeward Buoy (p) to Windward Buoy (p) to the finish line taking the start boat to port.  (Windward/ Leeward/ Triangle/ Windward/ Leeward).

Course 5

From start off Algies, to Mayne Islands (s), to Motuora Island (p), to Kaitu Kala Islands (s),to  Beehive Island (p), to Mayne Islands (s), to Christian Bay Buoy (s) to finish off Martello Rock (s).

Course 6

Course 25

From start at Algies, around Kawau (s) to finish at Bostaquet Bay.  Leading boat to take own finish time and stay on station to take times of following boats.

Course 26

From start at Algies around Kawau (p), to finish at Jones Bay.  Leading boat to take own finish time and stay on station to take times of following boats.

Course 27

From start at Algies, to Tiritiri Matangi Island (s), Shearer Rock (s) to finish at Shakespear Bay, or alternatively to finish at Manly.  Destination to be confirmed by RO.  Leading boat to take own finish time and stay on station to take times of following boats.

Course 28

From start at Algies to Moturoa Island (s) to Te Haupa (Saddle) Island (s) to finish in Mahurangi Harbour on a line between Pudding Island and the point at the west end of Dairy Bay.  Leading boat to take own finish time and stay on station to take times of following boats.

Course 29

Le Mans dash.  Competitors are to anchor off Algies Bay with a crew member ashore. At the start gun, the crew member is to down a tot of rum (or other), run to their dinghy, row out to their boat, raise sail and motor to the start line between the committee boat and an outer distance mark laid just off Algies Bay.  The motor is to be turned off before the yacht crosses the start line.  From the start, to Kaitu Kala Islands (s), to Te Haupa (Saddle) Island (s), to finish off Martello Rock (p).

FAIRWAY MARKS, ROUNDING MARKS AND PROHIBITED AREAS:

Mayne Islands: Yachts must not sail between Rabbit and Goat Islands.

Half Tide Rock: Yachts shall not pass to the north of Half Tide Rock.

Fairchild Reef: Yachts shall not pass between Fairchild Reef and Kawau Island.

Wellington Rock: Yachts shall not pass between Wellington Rock & Saddle Island.

Christian Bay Buoy: This is a permanently laid marker, situated in the middle of Christian Bay near Disaster Rock (not shown on all charts). Do not sail between Disaster Rock and the main land.

Navy Buoy: The most eastern yellow buoy situated at the SW end of the Tiri Tiri passage.
